Hey Lonnie,

It has been some time since we have heard from you. What are you doing these days? Are you still out in the sticks?

Just a note to let you all know that I opened the doors to the Law Office of Susan A. Turney last week, here in The Woodlands. My practice will continue to be Business Law/Corporate/Contracts/Sale & Purchases of Businesses, but I am adding Wills/Probate as an added service for clients. If anyone has any questions come up on these practice areas, please feel free to give me a call.

Hi everybody,
I guess it's been a while since I've checked Lonnielaw. One thing's for sure - nobody is updating this site any longer! I've sent in a "change of address" several times but I see my information is still wrong. Enough of the whining. My email address is: mmdroll@verizon.net. I left my old law firm about a year ago to go back and finish out my state retirement since I only had less than 10 years to go. I'm working for the Office of the Attorney General as an assistant attorney general in the Child Support division covering Galveston & Brazoria Counties. The job is a lot like a cross between joining the traveling circus & a band of gypsies, but I'm getting tons of trial experience and am becoming a fairly decent family law attorney - something I swore I'd never do. If only I could learn to survive on this ridiculously low salary I'm earning. :( Otherwise, life is grand. I think of you all often and have enjoyed catching up on who's doing what. I'm all for a reunion, so Dave, get busy!!

PS. If you can figure out how to get my email address changed on here, that would be great!

I have a will contest trial a week from today and need a jury charge. The issue is whether the decedent had "testmentary intent" when she executed the 2nd will (which my client wants probated). I've checked the Texas PJC but found nothing probate-related. Any ideas?

Hi All,

I don't know if I have every posted but I do lurk every now and then. I miss all of you, we had a great supportive class.

I agree with the majority, Dave, keep the job you have for now, ride out the high and when it starts to fall and it will, retake the bar. Also, let's you get the kids through college. Since I have two in college now, I really understand the costs. I would love to see you all, it's been too long. So let me know if there's a party. I just updated my info - been on my own almost since the beginning, but it is tough most days.

Well, I'm a little late in responding to Dave's post, but happy to say "hi!" to all. My e-mail changed, along with a lot of other things in my life, and I just checked my old e-mail and saw that there were several postings. I vote "yes!" for a party as well. It would be nice to see you all again. I hope you all are staying warm, dry, and well in during this flu season. Hope to talk to/see you soon! :o)

Hey folks-- I need your help. I need an employment lawyer who might be interested in pursuing a case, on my wife's behalf, regarding a breech of contract / wrongful termination type-thing. I'd be willing to risk $30,000 or so for the opportunity to drive a leather shoe DEEP up some jerk's butt.

Let's have a party! Dave you are, as I recall, the unofficial President of our night section. Where and when? Maybe we can send out an invite to all of our classmates in the Lonnie Law Rolodex--------------

It's a dilemma.

It is great to hear from everyone. It seems like forever since we were all sitting in Torts I, wondering if we would ever get out of lawschool. My first daughter was born the day before our Torts final, and she is now 7.

I am in almost the same situation as you Dave. I still have my real job, because Mrs. Sweet, also known as "She who must be obeyed" would kill me if I quit. It is my real job that is paying the bills. Maybe this will change later, but not now.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I am looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
